    Accessibility Statement

Ethos is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want the experience of capturing family stories to be available to as many people as possible, and we work to improve our accessibility on an ongoing basis.

    Conformance status

We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA. As of May 2026, Ethos is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA — meaning some parts of the content do not yet fully conform.

    What we do today

    • Use semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to structure content
    • Provide text alternatives for meaningful images
    • Maintain color contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA on primary content
    • Support keyboard-only navigation across the booking and quiz flows
    • Test against modern screen readers including VoiceOver and NVDA
    • Design forms with visible labels and clear error messages

    Known limitations

We acknowledge that some areas of our site are not yet fully accessible. Areas under active improvement include:

    • Some embedded third-party content (Stripe checkout, video players) follows the accessibility of those vendors and may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA
    • Certain decorative imagery may lack alt text where its purpose is purely visual
    • Animation and motion effects do not yet honor prefers-reduced-motion consistently across all pages

    Compatibility

Ethos is designed to work with the following:

    • Recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
    • Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
    • Browser zoom up to 200%
    • Keyboard-only navigation

    Assessment approach

This statement reflects internal review and ongoing manual testing rather than a third-party audit. We plan to commission an independent accessibility audit and will update this page when it is complete.
